What Is Body Contouring/Body Sculpting?
Body contouring, also known as body sculpting, can shape areas of the body and tighten skin by eliminating fat, and helping build collagen. At our office, we use the Exilis fat reduction device that uses technological advance grounded monopolar Radio Frequency technology. This device is a noninvasive treatment that heats the skin to a controlled temperature while the underlying fat reaches a higher temperature. By specifically targeting fat layers, the fat cells will naturally be flushed out of the body. There are no needles, no incision, and no recovery time needed. The Exilis delivers maximum effects in the shortest time while ensuring safety, comfort, and control.

- Severe liver and kidney disease.
Please be sure to share your complete medical history with us.
Preparing For Your Exilis Appointment
- Please arrive at your appointment well hydrated. Drink plenty of water 2 days before and a few days after your treatment to keep flushing fat cells through your system. Drink 100 fl oz of water each day with no more than 25 oz in an hour. The released body fat needs to exit the body via the kidneys.
- Please wear comfortable clothing on the day of your treatment so we gain access to your back/buttocks/thighs for easy placement of the grounding electrode as well as your treatment area.
- No make-up, creams or lotions on face for facial treatments.
- No creams or lotions on body for body treatments.
- No jewelry.
Hydration Is Key To Successful Treatment
The more hydrated you are, the better your results. This is to flush the fat cells that die during the appointment. FDA recommendations for water consumption in adults is half your body weight in ounces per day. Certain beverages can have an opposite and diuretic effect. Caffeinated beverages such as soda, coffee, and tea may deplete fluids in your body and should be avoided 48 hours in advance of your appointment.
Post Treatment Expectations
- You may experience some redness that will last a few minutes to an hour (sometimes longer).
- Your skin may feel warm immediately after the treatment, but this will dissipate quickly (face treatment) or may last for a few hours as deep tissue retains heat longer (body treatment).
- Increased sensitivity to heat (very hot shower) may last for 24-48 hours after the treatment.
- You may have some tenderness in the area for a few hours or a day after.
- Treatment around the eyes may yield some swelling and you are encouraged to sleep on two pillows for 24 to 48 hours after treatment.
- If the treatment area is on your body (not face), stay well hydrated for 4 days after the treatment for better results. Additionally, we encourage light physical activity, such as walking, after treatment to help with lymphatic flow.
- Preserve your results with sunscreen SPF 50+ as well as following a skincare program specifically designed for anti-aging and collagen rebuild.
